Medication Runway Support
Data-driven support designed to help you move confidently through your medication journey.
What is a medication runway?
Finding the right medication is a journey, and the first 4 to 8 weeks, the "runway”, can be the bumpiest part. Between remembering daily doses, navigating side effects, and tracking progress, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. This 6-week support program provides practical tools to help during this transition that you can use throughout your entire medication journey.
Not starting a new medication? No worries. The practical tools in this program support people collaborating with prescribers, even when no new medications are being considered.
The Phases of Support
Phase 1
Prescriber Collaboration
I’ll coordinate directly with your prescriber to identify the 6 to 8 metrics important to monitor, including measures related to desired treatment outcomes and measures related to potential side effects and other relevant factors. From this information, I’ll create an adaptable, 2-minute daily data system.
Phase 2
Active Runway Navigation
We’ll meet for 6 weekly sessions to work together to develop the practical tools and skills that optimize your collaboration with your doctor.
Phase 3
Clinical Report
For your follow-up appointments with your prescriber, you will have a visual report displaying the effects of your medication to review with your doctor to help guide the best possible next steps. If you would like to continue receiving support after your 6-week program, we can continue having sessions on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as-needed basis. If you’re looking for individual therapy, we can always incorporate additional medication runway support into our sessions.
You Can Expect…
-
As you transition through different medication phases, you simply fill out your quick daily form. In the background, this information will be converted into visual graphs that reflect how your medication is working for you. You’ll learn how to quickly and easily update your data sheet to account for medication changes.
-
Developing healthy habits surrounding taking your medication consistently is often the hardest part of a new regimen. We’ll work together to develop habits that work for you and your lifestyle to ensure the medication has its best chance at helping you.
-
Interoception means noticing and understanding the signals your body sends you. These internal sensations can include things like feeling anxious or nervous, hunger, muscle tension, nausea, thirst, pain, your heartbeat, feelings commonly associated with different emotional states, and more. Some people find it harder to detect or interpret these signals than others. Differences in interoception are often experienced by those with neurodivergence, anxiety disorders, depression, and other conditions.
We’ll work together to strengthen your interoceptive skills so that you can confidently report on changes you experience from the medication.
-
Learn evidence-based skills to help you navigate life's challenges with acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). If you’re interested in therapy, we can include your medication runway support into our individual work together.
-
All sessions are 100% virtual, so you can access professional, confidential therapy from the comfort of your home, office, or wherever you feel most at ease. Flexible scheduling, secure video calls, and easy appointment management make it simple to prioritize your mental health without commuting.
Who Do We See?
Individuals Starting, Changing, or Evaluating Medication
No matter where you are on your medication journey (starting a new prescription, adjusting dosages, or evaluating effectiveness with your doctor), we’ll work with you to get the most from your treatment. We listen to your goals and concerns, review side effects and interactions, track progress, and coordinate with your doctor so you feel confident and supported every step of the way.
Parents and Teen Support
Whether you’re a parent seeking clear, objective insight into your child’s care or a teen managing your own treatment, we offer practical tools to simplify the process. For younger children, we collaborate with parents to create easy, low-impact observation systems that evaluate progress without interrupting daily life. For teens 14 and older, we work directly with them, teaching internal awareness and self-advocacy so they can confidently record their own experiences, helping families feel coordinated, reassured, and supported at every appointment.
