Therapy for Neurodivergent Individuals
Supportive, affirming care for neurodivergent people to live proudly and authentically
Let’s Work Together
-
Being neurodiverse, such as having ADHD and/or Autism, can be a double-edged sword. On one side, we may experience incredible strengths and a wealth of creativity. Though, on the other side, we often also face unique and significant mental health challenges, from burnout and trauma, to insomnia and sensory overload. Together, we can explore your unique challenges and use trauma-informed tools to:
Support emotional regulation
Build attention flexibility
Learn how to recharge your batteries in life-enhancing ways
Safely unmask, should you choose to
-
Feeling 'stuck' in loops of worry, overthinking, or restlessness
Experiencing low motivation, social withdrawal, or feeling disconnected from what used to matter
Difficulty with rigid mental patterns, impulsivity, or struggling to stay present in the current moment (i.e., getting lost in thoughts)
Navigating significant life transitions, burnout, interpersonal difficulties, or challenges with sleep
Our work together will be individualized. Struggling with something specific that you haven’t seen mentioned? Please send a message or schedule a consult call. I’m happy to chat to see if I’m a good fit for you.
-
Do you feel stuck, unsure what you want your life to be about or perhaps experiencing a desire for personal growth, but unsure what that looks like?
We’ll make room to pause and explore with what really matters to you and learn skills that help people move from living reactively and impulsively to living with intention and purposeful action. Together, we’ll move the emphasis off who you feel pushed to be and toward living in ways that truly fulfill you through discovering your own values.
-
Heal the past, live in the present, and build towards the future with trauma-focused acceptance and commitment therapy (TFACT). This compassionate, exposure-based treatment can help individuals:
Find safety and security in their bodies
Break free from dissociation
Shift from self-loathing to self-compassion
Ground themselves and reengage in life
Connect with and live by their values
Experience post-traumatic growth
-
We’ll use a transdiagnostic, functional behavioral approach. This means the treatment is not limited to a specific diagnosis. I will help those with and without formal diagnoses.
-
All sessions are 100% virtual, so you can access professional, confidential therapy from the comfort of your home, office, or wherever you feel most at ease. Flexible scheduling, secure video calls, and easy appointment management make it simple to prioritize your mental health without commuting.
How do we get there? We’ll work towards change using Clinical Behavior Analysis (CBA) with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
For those interested, I offer PsychFlex to all of those who work with me, free of charge. PsychFlex is a therapy companion app where I can send you additional exercises and resources to compliment and supplement the work we do together. The Process
What to expect
15-Minute Consult
A free, zero-pressure video introduction to chat about what you are looking for, ensure we are a good match, and answer any logistical questions you have.
1
Initial Session
Our initial session will be longer than our ongoing sessions. This is so we can spend time discussing what brings you in for services more in-depth while still having time to create our therapy goals together.
2
Ongoing Sessions
I recommend ongoing sessions on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Our sessions will be flexible but generally include discussion, psycho-education, exercises, and active skill building to help you develop the tools needed to navigate the challenges you face.
3
Maintenance or Discharge
As we feel that you’re making progress towards your goals, it can often be helpful to move from a weekly or bi-weekly schedule onto a monthly or as-needed schedule. Or if you feel ready, we will conclude services. When services conclude, remember, my door is always open!
